    Chad Dawson: ''We Really Want The Joe Calzaghe Fight''

    ''We really want the Joe Calzaghe fight, we'll take the Bernard Hopkins fight, but right now, we're just laying back waiting for the next call, when I get the call, I'll be ready.'' stated IBF light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson as he talked about his future plans and his strong desire to face either Joe Calzaghe or Bernard Hopkins. Check it out..

    really would like to see zaghe in the ring with either johnson or dawson, it would be a great fight and would zaghe in the frame for the ATG label.

    problem is this if he beats either critics will still not be convinced - sawson will be seen as someone who is too green and johnson as another 40 yr oldthat is over the hill.

      If Dawson fights Hopkins the Dawson gravy train comes to a close. Then the only fight that stands in the way of greatness for Joe is against a guy who is one Calzaghe fight away from being "old and shot".

        Did Mayweather Jr really say Dawson is the best fighter in the sport right now?

          Zags would beat Dawson but it would be a really good bout indeed. MAKE IT HAPPEN

            If Calzaghe doesn't choose to retire what I'd like to see in 2009 is;

            Calzaghe v. Johnson

            Dawson v. Hopkins

            then Winner v. Winner for the undisputed everything LHW title.

            Johnson deserves to be in there not least because of his fight against Dawson, which many thought he won. He's up against Calzaghe rather than Dawson as he and Joe do, indeed, have 'unfinished business'. If Dawson wants to be undisputed LHW no. 1 he has to either beat B-Hop or wait for him to retire. As we keep getting told... cough.. B-Hop is an 'old man', therefore Chad will want to fight him sooner rather than later, surely?

            Calzaghe has said he won't give B-Hop a rematch, but if Hopkins beat Dawson I think he would probably have to. If Dawson beats B-Hop, that would raise his status sufficiently in the eyes of British fans to be Calzaghe's final opponent, in front of 50,000 at the Millennium Stadium. Of course, should Johnson beat Calzaghe, then it's his own bloody fault for not retiring when he should have done!

              nah, calz will get credit in beating dawson, just not enough to be considered an ATG.
