Yes he should be drop to number 3 and Make Calzaghe #1 and JMM #2 if he loses. People saying that Oscar is to big, that he will win this an that, well Pacquiao is the one who chose fighting Oscar. And besides, Floyd beat Oscar at 154. So no excuse, if he loses, he lose his #1P4P status

How can other P4P fighters lose/drop ranking when they go up to fight but not for Pac?? I don't get it.

Here's another way to look at it...who cares? when the history of this decade is written, manny's going to be one of the top 2-3 of his time no matter what happens on 12/6. Historical standing means a lot more than P4P ratings which change from fight to fight and a loss here won't hurt whatever standing he's earned to date.

Pac losing would affect him less than say a Floyd loss to oscar would have because unlike Floyd there is no perception that Pac carefully gilded his career for the better part of five years towards the single moment. The chips aren't all on on this one.

Losing fights never seemed to get people off pound for pound rankings.
Look at Bernard Hopkins, Rafael Marquez and (Jermain Taylor on other sites.
They all lost and still made top 10 and stayed there.

              I don't know why I think it's wrong but I do.

I mean Rafa is great and all but lost his last 2 and he's still on the Boxing Scene p4p rankings.

p4p is very open to debate though.

I don't think anyone really puts much stock into a Pac loss but I bet he drops from 1 or 2.

Not all losses are equal. Marquez and Vasquez split two and then Marquez BARELY loses the third in an ATG fight...clearly, he's still one of the world's very best.

When Tommy Hearns lost to Leonard, they were clearly two of the world's 3-4 best...that didn't change after the fight. We just knew which one was better of the two.
