Pacquiao, Williams, Phillips: titles vacant now

The WBC lightweight title was vacated by Manny Pacquiao today.

Recently, the WBO welterweight title was vacated by Paul Williams, and the IBF stripped Verno Phillips of the light middleweight title.

WTF did Verno get stripped for? I remember readin that Spinks was fightin somebody for that belt, and I was surprised cuz I thought Verno was defendin it against Pwill. Does this have sumthin to do wit the ******ass interim WBO 154 lb belt bein involved in that fight?

The IBF can be unreasonable when it comes to deciding to strip fighters.

They have too many mandatories. For example at heavyweight, Wlad is fighting Rahman because the IBF made him a mandatory, then he has to fight the IBF mandatory Povetkin by September, and the next IBF mandatory will be determined by the Walker-Arreola fight.

The IBF is the major barrier to unification and big fights - they rarely grant exceptions like the WBC and the WBO often do.

I know homey. I was just wonderin out loud if anyone knew of whatever their official bull**** reasoning was for this. I ain't heard nothin about it, although the interim WBO thing was given as the reson for Pwill havin to give up his WBO WW strap.

you wouldnt have thought that phillips would have trouble finding an opponent, after all he was the weakest champion in or around his weight.

Yes, they're just fighting for the "interim" WBO 154 title.

However, this may set up is a great matchup between Paul Williams and Sergei Dzinziruk, the "regular" WBO 154 titleholder.

Everybody wanted to fight Phillips but his promoter made impossible demands.
Like he wanted to include in the contract that who ever wins the title than he would be his new promoter.

and you might not want Pelulo to be your promoter
