Quick question: Why no Vazquez-Gonzalez rematch?

I know Vazquez KO'd him, which is always viewed as a convincing win, unless it is something drastic like Penalosa-Gonzalez, but...

Gonzalez was leading on all scorecards and had Vazquez down twice.

Why was there never a rematch?

    Why not now?

Lopez said he will be busy with a mandatory defense in the spring.

Caballero and Marquez will have each other tied up it looks like.

I can't imagine anyone at 122 who is better to face Vazquez than Gonzalez.

    What does everyone think?

Gonzalez moved back down to 118 after his fight with Vazquez then lost to Penalosa, he's been working his way back to the top ever since.

      I don't see why not.

Just because Jhonny was stopped doesn't mean their shouldn't be a rematch.

Cotto was stopped by margarito and they are having a rematch next year.

Jhonny Gonzalez is probably one of the most frustrating fighters to watch right now..I mean as in control he was of Vasquez, he should have set somthing big up. But Gonzalez is kind of soft, he doesn't have that Margarito within him.

As for the rematch, lol ****...Vasquez probably doesn't want it. And as soft as Jhonny is, he's probably OK with that.

That might be true, that neither is in a hurry to go after it.

And that is true, Jhonny's downfall is his inability to absorb a lot of punishment and keep going. Other than that, he is a great, great fighter to watch. I have a hard time thinking of fighters who are going to take a decision from him.

That fight, along wit Barrios-Guzman trumped MAB-Juarez 2. I'd love too see a sequel but it ain't likely for the time bein.

Jhonny should fight Poonsawat and winner fights Caballero.

Then winner unifies the division with a fight with Izzy.
