    Question about the WBO

It was established in the late 80's and early champs included the ww ATG Tommy Hearns, but when in your opinion when did the 'BO start to matter? I'd say this decade because in the 90's such notable champs like Bowe instantly gave up the belt to fight for the 'BA, 'BC, 'BF straps.

Interesting question. The WBO just seemed to grow in credibility during the course of the '90s, probably because a lot of very good fighters including the likes of DLH, Eubank, Calzaghe, Naseem Hamed etc. held WBO titles at one time or another.

I agree the 90s was a good period of recognition for the 'BO, but when did they gain universal acceptance as one of the major belts?

The W key on your keyboard appears to be faulty.

No I omit the W as in "world" because I see them as paper titles calling them world titles encourages them to screw fighters out of money, force crappy mandatories, and cause more organizations to appear.
