Only common sense answer Ive seen on this. The answer most are giving goes back to slavery, when it was considered if a person had a drop of black blood in them they were considered black, but to think so is to think like they did which was wrong, to think like that would neglect any other race that a person has in them. When people call ***** black, its neglecting as well as disrespecting his white mother. Most base their decisions on skin color, but "black" people can also produce what to the naked eye could have gone for a white person, as well as albinos.

He's Mullato (African AND Spanish roots) or Zambo (African AND Indigenous)... i guess he could be a combo of the three but I am ignorant of the spanish word for it... As far as Latin america is considered, The indigenous populations has influence from Spain, Africa, Portugual as well as a small Asian influence... Lastly i would doubt that he would consider himself Black because in Latin america i have heard there is alot of racism there, that people who "look" Black call themselves of Spanish descent or white.. Just got done taking a class on Modern Latin America

I think this should be taken as a opportunity to educate... I don't think that the question was meant as a racist remark but a question of how to seperate black from Cuban... A contradiction to many who see a individual as one or another.. I think this was a very good question even if there may have been a better forum to put the question into

I believe the specific term is zambo, mixed African/Amerindian lineage.
