How hard would it be to be your OWN promotor in the pro's?

Lets say you wanted to promote all your own shows and fight in them all?. Wonder how hard it would be. And i mean this for a guy at the bottom of the totum pole, not a guy like mayweather/de la hoya. Also this guy has minimal amount of fights possibly none.
