Floyd hasn't improved Ricky one bit

It's far too early for him to make an impact and improve him. Ricky did things in this fight he has always done but has neglected in the past. He realised he needed to think more before charging in and Mayweather will help him to do this.

    doesn't matter.

    he is what he is.

as long as he stays at 140 he'd be quite competitive with just about anyone.

great is the enemy of just good enough.

can't wait for marquez or pac to fight hatton. pac-hatton should be great. marquez-hatton would add to his resume.

ricky has to avoid oscar or any big welterweights..... his size and style is not for a fighter that can beat bigger men.

Agreed, he is what he is which is an underated fighter. He always had decent boxing skills. Like Hatton said himself at 10st he is pretty much unbeatable.

Pauli was right after the fight when he said Oscar would be too much for him, not because he is that much better but that much bigger.

It's funny how some fighters can go up weight divisions and it not effect them and they carry there strength and power with them.

But Hatton just doesn't seem to be able to step up 7lbs and look the same fighter. Considering he is one of the strongest 140lb fighters out there it amazes me how he doesn't seem as strong or as hard hitting at the welterweight limit.

Of course he already realised this, that's why he split with Graham and brought Mayweather in. He wants him to help him do this.

hatton is too small for 147.

look at marg. look at williams.

shane and cotto are too short for 147 and both got and inch or two in height and much longer reach than ricky.

i say ricky stays at 140 and wait for the marquez and pac.

He should stay but he wants the big fights and at the moment they aren't there.

I think Floyd Sr has improved ricky a bit...

not to the fullest extent that floyd sr is capable of but in those short 6-8 weeks i noticed ricky was a bit improved (epecially early on)...

as the fight wore on ricky did go back to the old hatton...

but in the opening 4 rounds right showed lots of improvement...he came in behind a jab properly...didnt just jump in like he usually does...

I noticed paulie took note of that...because later on the fight when paulie was down big on the scorecards hatton began jumping in and paulie was taking a page out of the mayweather/hatton fight by looking for that check left hook hoping for the homerun...

I noticed (as did lamply/commentators and mcgirt) that hatton was really open for right hands...which takes me back to what i thought would have been a good gameplan for paulie and thats jab then feint the right and catch him with the left hook...

i didnt see paulie really attempt that combo but it would have worked wonders for him...

paulie really painted hatton with that 1-2 later in the fight and it turned hatton around...i was pleasantly suprised by home paulie really sold out on that right hand...

i think if hatton sticks with floyd through his next fight then there will be much more improvement and its going to be cruical for hatton as he gets older. He also needs to stay away from the fatty foods and beer during his fights...he wont be able to keep gaining and losing 40lbs in between fights...for example in the lazcano fight it really showed...

lazcano was losing every round but wasnt fading...especially late in the fight hatton got hurt by lazcano and i think all the major weight gains and losses are affecting hatton's stamina and chin...

in his last couple of fights his chin has been getting noticably weaker...i mean when paulie turns you around with a right hand then that must be saying something about hatton's chin...

a prime hatton had one of the best chins in this current era of boxing...

hatton has a couple years left and im actually excited to see how get stacks up against the competition as he doesnt seem to be taking the easy way out in terms of opponents...he wants the winner of pacman/oscar and im pretty sure he's still lobbying for the floyd jr rematch.

if he could beat those two that would do wonders for his legacy.

theres still the potential to fight judah, cotto or margarito, maybe even mosley...

hatton is right up there with oscar in terms of being in the best position in the sport.

pac and marquez is right there.

the kings of 135 are good matches for the king of 140.

both will be good fights for the resume win or lose and both will be huge fights.

both are also gbp promoted (gbp co-promotes pac fights against gbp fighters) as well.

no excuse a fight them can't be made......except for oscar ****ing **** up again. it should really be jmm-pac or pac-hatton this december but oscar needed an opponent.

Are you mearnt to be on the forum or in hospital getting some antipsychosis drugs?Hatton himself says Floyd taught him to relax his shoulders, move in with the left jab and things like that.
