By Brent Matteo Alderson - There was a lot going on during this year's inductions into the World Boxing Hall of Fame in California. I ran into Tommy Morrison and he was in the lobby chugging down White Russians while talking with a few fans and I walked up to hang out with him and his fan congregation as he was talking about Elvis. world boxing hall of fame
lennox lewis has always been a class act. marvin johnson was a serious scrapper. back then they had him, matthew saad muhammad, leon spinks, eddie mustafah muhammad, yequiz lopez (i know i misspelled his name) and james scott from new jersey penitiarary, i believe; those were some great fighters fighters back then. any of them would be champion today. of yeah, let me not forget dwight braxton...
i remember one story on johnson i read, he didn't take a shower during training camp for a fight, which lasted 6 weeks, to make himself mean. I wish i was at the hall of fame to ask him about that..

I heard from one guy who went that Lennox was an ******* who only signed autographs when the cameras were on and he turned down a couple of kids. Not sure how true it is

I always thought Lennox was overrated. NO CHIN! He was a great fighter but he fought Holyfield and Tyson when they were past their prime. A prime Holyfield and Tyson would have murdered him, as well as a lot of other great fighters. And "The Duke" was a decent fighter. Good but not great. He won a few titles.

Not too suprising that this author also says that Jones would beat Calzaghe easily in his prime. I knew that, but to say Spinx would definitely beat Jones @ LHW was more than ignorant. I doubt he would have even found Jones to be able to connect well enough to beat him. Spinx was hittable and If Jones could hit james Toney and get him reluctant, I know he could have done the same with Spinx. -Peace
