It depends of how shot is Evander right now, if Valuev didn't beat Ruiz convincigly, Evander could pull the upset.

Give me five to one odds and I'll say Holyfield wins.

holyfield has 2 shots at winning.
        1. landing the left hook he landed on lou savarese
        2. valuev sustaining a serious injury during the fight...dislocated knee, achillies tendon tear, etc.

Perhaps ten years ago when he was on the decline. At this point he is truly shot - all he still possesses is his chin.

it's mind boggling how disrerspectful people can be to living legends in Boxing, dissing Jones then Holyfield, it's a shame really.. to say Holyfield can't beat Valuev is to say to me in plain English "crillz, I don't know about Boxing", Valuev is a slow choppy Heavyweight who isn't even all that strong. he's a large man yet his key is winning rounds and going 12 because he has no punching power, Holyfield STILL has agility, he lost to Ibragimov because Ibragimov simply brought the pain, he dished it out but they went at it and Holyfield ends up going 12 rounds with an undefeated fighter who went 12 rounds with Klitschko.

Holyfield just has to move his head and give him QUICK angles, beat him to the punch EVERYTIME and don't allow him to tumble and tower over him. in a nutshell he has to dictate the pace of the fight, for every 1 punch Valuev throws Holyfield has to respond with 2 and 3. he just needs to remain aggressive for the WHOLE 12 and if you've been paying attention even in the least bit you'll have noticed that in his very last fight he demonstrated he's still capable of doing so.

he will restore prestige to the division if after all this time he can come back and win the gold. you'd think that as proclaimed fans of Boxing people would be happy to see Holyfield come back and beat this guy but y'all aren't, it's really confusing. he has a chance to add to his legacy, already a legend but still has the drive to continue at an old age and he gets no support? thas ****ed up.. I pick Evander Holyfield to win a UD over Nikolai Valuev, I think he knows what he has to do in order to win and he understands that this may be his last chance to make his dream come true.

I doubted him before when he fought Fres Oquendo, I once again doubted him when he fought Lou Savarese and in both occassions he proved me wrong, he then losses to Ibragimov after giving a very respectful effort given the circumstances singlehandedly proving to me that he is for real, he really wants to win the title again and he will, he showed me in those 3 fights I named that he has the tools to beat Valuev even in losing to Ibragimov.. all you need is speed, aggression, accuracy and movement to beat Valuev and Holyfield has all 4 things to spare even right now.

Holyfield has no chance. He wouldn't even throw against the Fat Russian(who he had a decent chance of beating), why would he risk MORE vs a giant?

You've always got a chance in boxing, this would be remarkable if Holyfield could do this!

I think he has a half-decent shout against Valuev. If he wins and gets to fight Wlad or Vitali I just hope he survives to collect his paycheck.

its so sad that Holyfield is an underdog against Valuev, a once great fighter he should have retired after lossing to Lewis and that was nearly 10 years ago now.
