Lewis got Holyfield and Tyson at end of their careers so whats his point?
When did he make the promise?

Was it the little talk right after the fight when Vitali ran up to Lennox and begged him for the rematch?

What is Lewis going to say; "**** OFF."

Lewis was Champion and there is no need to rematch Vitali; he Won.

If Vitali had been lineal Champion, of course, I could see the Champion getting a rematch; I've always been for that.

What Lewis learned in that fight was that he was not motivated anymore and would have to decide to go on.

Vitali gave Lewis no time to think so even if Lewis said "AH, yeah, sure," Vitali should have taken that as "Maybe; let me see if I still have it in me to fight; I'll have to talk it over with my Family; I'll get back to ya."

The only time you could have held it against Lewis is if Lewis fought again since there was no better opponent out there than Vitali; but Lewis retired because he was past his prime and didn't have it in him anymore to fight. Vitali lost; End of Story.

yeah klitschko might as well give it up. why would you want to fight someone that would be coming off a 6 year retirement. obviously your gonna win the fight. there would be nothin to gain from beatin a old past his prime lewis just to make you feel better. when you think about it its vitali own fault that the fight went the way it did. lennox lewis was not even in top shape the night of their fight. he was the biggest he had ever been, his stamina was ****ty, and his boxing was sloppy. there were numerous times where vitali had lennox hurt but he failed to capitalize and put him way. i remember on more than one occasion where vitali had lennox wobbling but he just stopped punching and looked at him. WTF? i thought in boxing i thought once you have your opponent in trouble like that you jump on they ass and knock him out. so with that being said vitali should have put lennox lewis away when he had the chance but he didnt. so it makes me wonder if lewis was able to beat klitcshko in the crappy shape he was in, wonder how he would of did he was in shape. those are the questions people should be asking.

I knew the rumors were ridiculous. Did you see Lewis' stomach popping out of that tux on Saturday night? He has nothing to prove. He was a great heavyweight. And this is coming from a former Tyson fan who rooted for Lewis to take his (Tyson's) head off.

Lennox is mad because this will always be a question as long as people talk about it.. He rather just go as the guy that wasn't the first to beat tyson after tyson lost to a guy that did it after Holyfield and way before the guy that leaned on tyson across seas after lennox did it. That guy.

By boxingrules Lewis won the fight but stating that there's no need for a rematch is only partially correct. A rematch today would be silly and Lennox would just be KTFO. But a rematch then was so obviously the right thing to do after such an unsatisfying end to a fight. Lewis should have had the decency back then. Today? Forget it Vitali, and move on.

Decency to rematch VK why??? Vitali pulled out of a fight with the world renowed Hasim Rahman 4 different times due to "injury" but people want to question lewis deceny because he retire rather than face a fighter he already beat??

Move on its not like lewis went on to fight someone else or was calling out someone else.

I said he should have had the decency to make an immidiate rematch back then.
