But, guess what, who does it benefit? It benefits the fighters, the fans who chose to buy the PPV/watch the fight live(maybe), the promoters who put the fight together for one night, one measly night.
Does it benefit boxing, the sport? No, these types of matchups and other circus acts that boxing has done, is exactly what has damaged boxing.
DLH will always have his supporters no matter what. PAC will always have his supporters no matter what. But boxing suffers.
And for all those who say that Joto has done well for the sport. It's more like Joto has done well for himself. When Joto finally decides to hang it up. What does boxing have? It is the Muhammad Ali's, the Sugar Ray Robinson's, George Foreman's that carry the torch of boxing, they're the fighter's who have stood the test of time.
De La Hoya and Tyson will be known as the good looking guy who fought in the 90's and Tyson will be known as the Psycho motherf**ker.
