    The NEW Hatton

Right, did you guys see him box differently because of his training or was he the same old pressure pressure hold pressure Hatton.

There were definately changes although they were subtle ones.

Hatton threw and landed far more jabs than in recent previous fights, he slipped and changed the angle on a regular basis and seemed to be able to catch a number of PM's jabs with his right hand.
Also his pace although still constant was less manic, he still came forward with purpose but seemed to dive in far less.

The clinching was not apparent, that may have been because PM did it all for him or it could be becuase Mayweather has discouraged that side of his style.

Hatton will never be a PBF, that's just not him but there were signs that there have been minor adjustments to his style. Also his physique looked different. Perhaps without the muscular training of Kerry Kayes???

7 weeks into the new partnership and Hatton is 30 years of age so....they would be only subtle differences.

I noticed him blocking with his right hand coming in now...he's more adapt to his opponent's left hand.. since it was the a check left that killed him..

He was clinching less, most of the time Paulie initiated the cliches and Hatton was lunging in far less. He did it on occasion.
He had more head movement and his pace and footwork were more controlled.

he was boxing great from rounds 1-4... then it got sloppy cause hatton was rushing in all the time and not setting up his punches...

when hatton was setting up his punches he landed his best punches.

              also hatton's stamina was improved.

There was nothing "new" about Ricky last night. The "new" things he did, such as boxing his way in, patiently stalking, using more head movement, etc.... are all things he's done in the past against previous opponets, like the first 6 rounds against Juan Urango.

The only thing is Ricky doesn't do that stuff often, so whenever he does do it, people somehow think he's a changed fighter.
