Ouch. God knows why. Malignaggi is actually a pretty bad fighter. He will do well against the lower tier fighters but he just doesn't have the necessary skills to beat the top guys. Even with his lack of power, he could still out-box the best guys, but he is actually not very elusive at all and his accuracy is also not great.

He doesn't do anything well enough to beat the best in any division. With no power, he would at least need to be very, very difficult to hit while being able to counter with his own fast, accurate combinations. The thing is, he doesn't even have any good combinations. He basically throws one punch at a time, and doesn't use his jab to good effect.

He's quite simply just not that good.

The slick boxing skills that were supposed to confound Hatton never materialized. Really, how the hell was Paulie going to keep Hatton off of him? I'm not right a lot of the time. But this fight was just too easy to analyze. If Hatton doesn't respect your power, he will steamroll you. And Paulie can't punch a hole through a wet paper bag with scissors.

Apparently he thought Malignaggi is a top 10 pound for pound fighter, I think he bet a few million points on Malignaggi, poor guy.

Yeah, Malignaggi is unusually easy to hit considering his style, you'd expect him to be more elusive but his head movement is limited and he keeps his left hand low, his foot movement is predictable as well, and he doesn't have much power which is definitely not a good combination.

He's not as good as I thought he was, he's been looking very limited lately but I attributed that to his quality of opposition, I guess I was wrong.

the only time slick boxing skills have ever confounded hatton was against the p4p No1.

Hatton fans where saying it for weeks leading up to the fight, hattons footwork is too good for slick boxers to consistantly break him down, PBF is the exception to many rules however.
