Cotto did something Hatton didn't do as well. Put Paulie down and broke his jaw.

Still a great win/beatdown by Hatton.

cotto didn't outbox paulie... cotto was just too strong. hatton outboxed paulie though for 4 rounds... then paulie turned it into a hug fest.

You guys gotta remember, if it went to points, I had Hatton winning every round, maybe losing the first round close. That was outboxing him. Cotto won by like 2 points and that was with a KD.

            AGREE.

not only did Cotto beat the **** out of Paulie, in a fight Paulie showed his heart, but you can't take it away from the fighter who pounded that first.

I think Paulie got beat up a lot worse in the Cotto fight than tonight.

Cotto was weight drained for one, and he beat Malignaggi even worse.

Cotto mashed Paulie's face. Hatton beat him more comprehensively.

Wow. Malignaggi was absolutely embarrassed and exposed tonight. While you should give him his due for being A LOT tougher than he looks. It doesn't change the fact that it was proven tonight that he is not a world level competitor, hasn't defeated anybody important and the two times he tried to up his game, he was beaten senseless. You gotta feel for the guy though, in less than an hour he was forced to realize that he isn't nearly as good as he or many fans believed him to be. Smart move by Buddy McGirt however, there was no point in him taking a senseless pounding at that stage in the fight when it was clear he couldn't win because of the wide margin of points and his lack of knockout power. Cotto did exactly what Hatton did to Paulie, just worse. On this night though, McGirt was smart enough to know when enough was enough.

Ricky Hatton on the other hand looked fantastic, I picked him to lose tonight, but it is plainly obvious that Mayweather did a stellar job with him. He was still an offensive force, but also fought a very smart battle that didn't involve too many unnecessary risks. I will definitely give credit where it's due tonight. I still don't think he's a top 10 pound for pound ranking fighter, but he is very good especially with Floyd Sr. to guide him.

i understand your hatton fan and your excited right now, but lets be realistic. paulie won rounds against cotto because he was fighting, he was not throwing combos or fighting back against hatton. plus cotto not 140 fighter; paulie even said it himself at the end of fight, cotto hurt me more and knocked him down which hatton could not do
