Shane Mosley fights bigger men. Mayweather not so much.

People say Mayweather deserves credit for fighting bigger men. In my opinion the 2 men i thought who were physically bigger than him were corrales and De La Hoya and maybe Baldomir could be added as well. The rest were the same height as him and about the same weight.

Lets look at Shane Mosley. Keep in mind he is about 5'8

He is the lightweight king, goes up to welterweight, dosent take fights at 140 instead challenged the Golden Boy( 5'10 1/2 fought as high as 160) and won.

He fights Vernon Forrest (6'0 former welterweight and current lt middleweight champ) Losses twice.

He fights Raul Marquez(5'10 1/2 fought as high as 160) to a no decision

Mosley fights Winky Wright (5'10 1/2, fought at lt middleweight, middleweight and as high as 170 pounds.) He losses twice.

Mosley fights Fernando Vargas(5'10, career at lt middleweight) He wins twice.

Mosley fights Ricardo Mayorga (5'9 fought at welterweight and lt middleweight his whole career) Mosley knocks him out.

Now Shane Mosley shows you what it is to fight men bigger than him. Mayweather is an all time great but please dont ramble on how he fights men much more bigger than him.

There's no real evidence that Shane used steroids.

Who has Mosley beat? ODLH?? That is it. Lost to Vernon Twice, and Winky twice.

He beat a washed up Vargas ad Mayo...

          That is it.

Way over rated in my book.

I hate Cotto, and this is well known. But I say Cotto resume is better than Mosley's. And thats cuz I like Shane.

Except when Shane admitted to using them ("unknowingly").

Mosley was a very big lightweight. He'd weigh 150 unofficially on the night of the fight. He even outweighed DLH at WW on the night of the fight, 155-152. In addition to his talent, his size is another reason why I think he'd have been a handful for most lightweights in history. Most lightweights in history were smaller, due to different weigh-in rules.

Mosley fought his share of bigger guys, as did Mayweather. PBF was the lighter man in the ring numerous times, being outweighed by Chico 10 pounds, Baldomir 13 lbs, Castillo 9 pounds, who knows how much Gatti and DLH outweighed him by?

to the starter of this thread lets keep in mind floyd is 5'7 maybe 5'8.. he is a natural lightweightnd have fought all the way up to junior middleweight.. shane is naturally bigger than mayweather and is around the same size of most of the guys he has faced.. vargas? he was shot.. mayorga? shot.. shane is a good fighter but he has been overrated his entire career.. corrales, castillo, baldomir, gatti, augustus, corley, oscar, etc the list goes on the amount of opponents who were bigger than floyd..

and sugar shane used steriods too? thats terrible

I believe Shane when he said he flew across the state, spent almost two thousand dollars, and injected himself in the stomach with what he thought were "legal supplements".

                  It was all very innocent.

Credit to Mosley for those feats but you can't seriously blast Mayweather for not fighting bigger men all the time, can you? When you have people on the p4p list fighting people who are officially grandpas, when you have The Golden Boy fighting someone who started at 106 (Oscar has a win vs a legit middleweight) and when you have promoters putting fights not worthy of a co-feature, in the golden days, on ppv. And remember he took those bigger guys at the end of his career when he was no longer on his very best physical abilities (tough still very able). Mosley is also a beast and that's why i don't like him to be sticking around. When i start to see fighters losing fights on old age (unable to win the championship rounds) i really think they should retire because after that you get Roy Joned and it's sad for a fan to watch that process. I knew Mosley had given his all even as he fought Collazo. In his prime he would have beat Cotto easily, most people agreed then and that means there are no big wins left for Mosley anymore. He is in for the money and for the GBP brand. I have no interest in seeing who will be the one to KO Mosley so i just wish he calls it a career and quit. Save your money or be in for a sad hard life and still end up broke in the end (read Hollyfield).
