Hatton's Army Let's Paulie Have it: Both Make Weight

Neither fighter had any trouble making weight for Saturday night's junior welterweight fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Ricky Hatton tipped the scales at 140-pounds, and Paulie Malignaggi was a pound under at 139-pounds. [details]

Hatton has the best fans of any active fighter. He doesnt even have to throw money at them to get them to show up.

Hatton has a typical English football fan following and whilst a lot of English fans route for Joe, he's Welsh and isn't really considered "our" fighter so Joe doesn't have the cult following. If you understand what I'm saying. Hatton fans = typical football fans. Especially with Hatton being a fan of football as well. The chants Hatton fans sing are football chants as well, especially "Who are ya!" and "Hatton Wonderland" (replacing Hatton with football player's name). Hatton represents the English working man's culture.

That working class hero **** sells well.

Hatton is a master at marketing himself.

                  Good for him.
