ummmmmmmmm, last time I checked he reniged on a fight with Shane Mosley, not Oscar De La Hoya. GBP is the Golden Goose. To get a fight against a GBP fighter insures a decent payday. He just insured he wont get a fight with ANY GBP fighter. And the peace that was made between Oscar and Arum is offically done. Arum better hold on to those 2 belts at welterweight as tight as he can so he can make his fighters fight each other for the rest of their careers cause NOBODY is gonna want to deal with Top Rank concerning Margarito after this.

I am sure he had to be reading the boards and seeing what his nuthuggers have been using as a defense. I could have sworn Maxboxing reported him saying the fight just wasnt a good fight for him and he would be looking for a bigger fight. I just wonder what is a bigger fight besides Margarito vs Shane /Williams ?

What's going to be HILARIOUS is if Cotto wins the WBO title in his fight with jennings that GBP offers him a BOATLOAD of money to fight Shane in a rematch.

Margarito turned down a 50-50 split that would have given both fighters $2 million dollars. As much as i can understand his reasons, this is a bad move for him because hes not still a big draw like Mayweather, after this he could well end on the milkbox like Winky...even if hes an exciting fighter, its not like hes someone you cant live without in the promoters' eyes

If this is really his reason for not doin it, payback might be nice, but it's still ******. He ain't helpin himself by stoopin to the same bull**** level DLH did. This is one reason people lost respect for DLH and looked at Marg more favorably. Just ****in dumb. Quit bein bitter and fight Marg. It was cool seein DLH exposed on this one, but Marg had to know he was never actually gonna get DLH to step in the ring wit him. I was waitin for Marg to say why he didn't face SSM and this is a half valid reason, but why **** yourself over as far as credibility wit fight fans just to spite DLH? He coulda done one better by fightin one of his GB partners and destroyin him right in front of DLH's face.

my question still remains...What does stiffin Shane have to do with getting back at Oscar? Shane is still fighting in January and now the $2 million he would have gotten is gonna get bigger if he fights a lesser name opponent in Berto. margarito didnt hurt Shane. He actually made his pockets a little deeper. Neither fight was a PPV fight.

The more I think about it the more pathetic Tony appears for ducking Shane and Williams.
