WBO junior flyweight champion Ivan Calderon (32-0, 6KOs) is sitting at home, still on a medical suspension placed by the boxing commission in Puerto Rico for the vicious cut he suffered during the rematch with Hugo Cazares. While spending the time at home and with family, he is also considering what to do next in 2009. He plans to return in early 09 once the suspension is up, and is not sure on whether he will move back down in weight to fight WBO minimumweight champion Donnie Nietes (23-1, 14KOs) of the Philippines, or move up to 112-pounds to face WBO flyweight champ Omar Narvaez (28-0-2, 17KOs) of Argentina. I think beating Narvaez at 112 would look great in his record. That would seal his chances of becoming a Hall of Famer. He beats people SO easy, that made wonder what would happen in a fight against the great Finito Lopez both in their primes.Comment

First of all he is not boring to watch. Second the only time he ran a little bit more than he used to, was in the 1rst cazarez fight. Because against Dieppa he was puttting the pressure and in the 2nd cazarez fight he was starting to come forward untill the Nasty Cut. He beats people so easily that is not even funny. Thats the only reason they wont fight him, because they know they will lose easy.Comment

I dont know men Finito was the ****. But in the other hand calderon beat twice a hugely bigger fighter in cazarez so, I say is a 50/50. If is desicion Ill say Calderon but if Ko Ill say Finito. But my opinion Calderon SD 115-113Comment

There are so many great names in his weight category in the likes of edgar sosa, ulises solis or even Omar nino or juanito rubillar.. i wonder if he is running out of big names in his weight category.. but anyway his weight is variable, he can move down to 105 to challenge nietes or move up to 112 but i think his prospect of challenging the big names such as donaire, naito or sakata at this moment looks grim. i suggest taking all the big names in 108 first would be a better preparations to move up by challenging the bests in 112.Comment
