    Margarito!! Question about WBA regulation

    11. Title Defense Periods. Unless otherwise directed by the Championship
Committee, a boxer who obtains a title by defeating a champion must defend his title as follows:
    a. Non-Heavyweight Division: If the Official Contender, within nine (9)
months from the date the title was obtained; if not the Official Contender, within one hundred
    twenty (120) days.

So if Margarito doesn't fight until next June would the WBA take the tittle away from him?

No, the WBA has nominated Margarito as their Super Champion at welterweight. Nuzhnenko has been promoted to full WBA champion.

ok so he was nominated as their super champion!! as i understood in their regulation to be nominated you have to hold 2 championship in the same way or something like that i might be wrong.
