Trainer Freddie Roach feels the boxing public is paying too much attention to the weight of both Manny Pacquiao and Oscar De La Hoya. Pacquiao, the WBC lightweight champion, is moving up from 135 to meet De La Hoya at the agreed weight of 147 on December 6 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. [details]

The weight has got to come into play at some point .. its nearly a stone man ... and it tells a lot more on the lighter weights generally than it does on the heavier, plus ODLH is fast at that weight PACMAN will not be faster for carrying the extra weight ...Last edited by bambamdaddio; 11-20-2008, 03:27 AM.

DLH looked horrible in his last fight. Just horrible. Hes not going to be better in this fight. Steve Forbes beat DLH face up badly in that fight. People are caught up in the mystique. DLH is fighting Pacquaio because he knows he is a diminished fighter. Mayweather was beating his head in all night... Forbes was beating his head in all night... he doesnt have it. His only chance at beating Pacquaio is a knockout which doesnt bode well for him.

Freddie Roach retiring
I got a better suggestion, why don't you retire after this fight Freddie Roach? Did you even watch the Hopkins fight? Weren't you the one that said he might get hurt against Pavlik? Just to remind you, the 43 year old took the 26 year old undefeated champ to school. Age ain't nothing these days.

There are Pac fans and unbiased fans stating that Pac will lose cuz he is the shorter and smaller man. But the fact is Pac accepted this fight, even it is for money.
As far as Pac fighting a out of primeDela Hoya, his size and skills give him the edge. Now if Dela Hoya is out of his prime, how come you want him to face Margarito. Antonio and Pac are almost the same age, in their primes. Let Margarito face the younger guys, Clottey and Paul Williams. Not hating Margarito, i respect him before the Cotto fight even though i thought he would lose. But with his performance and win over Miguel, he impressed the hell out of me. Margarito over the Golden Boy if that fights materialize.
