Carl Froch vs. Jermain Taylor

Froch has to get past Pascal first. I can honestly say I dont no who wins in that fight to be honest, as I've yet to see Froch come up against any sort of decent opponent. He's never been tested (not really his fault as many have pulled out of fighting him).

From what I've seen, I'd say Taylor would have too much in his locker for Froch. Lets wait til after the Pascal v Froch fight. Might have a better idea of how far he can can go.

Taylor's promoter just said that if Froch wins the title they wont fight Froch.

Beating an untested Froch would've given Taylor less money, a belt (a paper one), but not the opportunity for a big money superfight, which is clearly what DiBella (and HBO) wants for Taylor, hence all the Calzaghe talk (which IMO is a mistake). Beating Lacy in the dominant fashion he did provides him with a better chance of landing such a fight.

And regardless of what crap comes out of Dibella's mouth about not fighting Froch if he beats Pascal, I believe if that's the best fight available, they will take it. They'd just rather fight the Canadian on North American soil (both because it is a better sell in America and because Pascal is the easier matchup for Taylor).

But with his camp going after Calzaghe, how could you possible accuse them of ducking Froch? I'd give Taylor way better odds against Froch than I would against Joe Cal.

It's all about risk/reward, and right now Froch's risk/reward ratio does not make him as attractive as some of the other opportunities around 168. That doesn't mean he's being ducked because he's such a badass, it means he's a bad investment at the moment.
