Why do people mock Margarito for turning down 2 million when Mayweather turned down 8

It's because everyone wanted to fight Mayweather for the big payday.
Obviously if you have 20 different guys calling you out at once you'll take the one who makes the highest offer.

Margarito on the other hand was declared the most feared man in boxing before the cotto fight. never got no credit. none. then he beat the best. He's obviously gonna think that makes him more fearsome, but in reality it just makes his name bigger and him worth bigger paydays. People are gonna call him out and thats obvious. But when you decline a 4 million dollar offer with Paul Williams to try and get a bigger fight with DLH then good for you if it happens. But it didnt. He still didn't fight Paul yet. Now he gets a career high 2 million dollar deal if he accepts it with an aged legend in Shane Mosely...

Personally I think Bob Arum had alot to do with it. I dont think he wanted to take the risk of having another one of his big name fighters lose to someone from Golden Boy. Cotto was beat. Pavlik was schooled. Pacman will possibly get knocked out. Margarito's the only one left

It's the fact that his style is not appealing..He's a warrior with limited skill..My own dad A HUGE boxing fan who watched guys like Ruben Olivares, Salvador Sanchez, Pipino Cuevas, etc. fight LIVE...says Margarito is not talented..he can last and take a hit..and that's how he would beat most contenders whom stand a chance..

IMO he's not flashy enough for Americans to like him..he's ugly as ****..it seems like you almost gotta be a model to make it also..hence why DLH and Pretty boy Floyd are huge draws!..

Mike Tyson was known to be unleashed and DESTROY guys 5,6 inches taller than him!!..

Margarito smashes guys who he just looks bigger than..and looks down on..

I don't say it's about height..but to the public eye it looks uneven..and a mismatch..

Cotto was a technical boxer who got drawn in to toe to toe battles and was vulnerable to getting hit..that's what makes him exciting..but that's not what the people want..

To say he's not talented is a bunch of bs imo, and more of being butthurt from Cotto losing. Having no talent doesn't get you any belts, especially being a champion for so long.

Fair enough..We shall see..I can't lie and say I like his style..but my nationalistic pride makes me hope he wins against pretty much anyone but Cotto..lol..

And I feel that'd he'd ROCK Paul Williams' WORLD!!..I just hope that it happens win or lose after Cotto..cuz like u stated he hasn't been in the game for just 5 years..it's more like 15..so if there's a time to shine for Margarito IT IS NOW!!!..
