Could Chad Dawson Be A Heavyweight?

I've read a few posts where people have mentioned Dawson going up in weight. Do you guys think Dawson could go up in weight to heavyweight and maintain his speed and not look bloated or fat? Is it feasible that Chad Dawson could one day venture in to Heavyweights if he continues to be successful in boxing?

cruiserweight, definitely yes. heavyweight is not out of the question with the way fighters move up in weight these days, but i don't think he belongs there.

He should be a career light heavyweight.

Glen Johnson looked much stronger than Dawson, I can't imagine him in there with big cruiserweights not to mention heavyweights.

Chad Dawson has a similar height and reach as Muhammed Ali. Did he seem weaker in the Johnson fight because he was fighting below his best fighting weight? Would he be stronger at cruiserweight?

Not sure. I don't think he would have more power at cruiser or heavy, and he'd end up getting knocked out himself.

Well almost anyone could, it's whether there'd be any good. Dawson is a small ish LHW, whom doesn't weight much more than the limit usually. He can still get down to SMW.

He's also not a huge puncher, and his chin isn't the toughest out there.

So now, SMW-LHW for some time imo.

Why not stay at lightheavyweight and build a legacy? Unify titles, clean out the division, fight hard, fight often and dominate. Isn't that how legands are made?
Moving up to face the super-sized heavyweights of today would negate his tremendous skills. He'd be mid-level at best. If others could do it so easily, then it would have been done more often.
If he's as good as everyone is saying, he may be the next dominant fighter. But, at 175.
I can see him moving up to Crusierweight towards the end of his career, but why now? What's the rush? Unless he's having trouble making 175, I think he should build from where he's sitting right now.

look at the guy, hes ****in frail

hes a great lightheavy and should stay there and clean out that division
theres a few ppl he should watch out for, but he can clean out that division
as well as 168 which is booming and will be for the next few years
