If you can make the weight, you can fight there. If Williams can make 147 - so be it. Everyone considers Hearns a legend so and he was a tank at 147 so why not Williams?

Also, I totally agree with the original post. I may even extend my opinion to 160lbs as well. For me, Williams beats Sturm, Abraham and Pavlik. Since he has been sitting down on his punches he has been a beast.

Williams beats Margarito as he is the bigger man with the better boxing ability. He also has great stamina as does Margarito. Also, Williams would take Mosely, Cotto and Berto at Welter - none of these will get anywhere near Williams imo - Cotto and Berto's promoters can't even hear the name P. Williams and Mosely is a warrior but a young, prime fighter like Williams would be too much for him at 36/37. I don't even know who boxes at L-W lol.... Um Santos and Verno? For me Williams beats them both although I havn't seen so much of them so I can't make too much comment.

I'm not even kidding when I say this but if Williams and Kessler fought I'd probably bet Williams. I'd certainly bet Williams over Froch ( no offence to Froch - I really hope he wins on the 6th - I"m a fan).

Bottom line: Williams is terrifying the top boxers because they don't want to get KOed. He can only draw in less well known names atm because he can offer opponents decent pay days from what they are used to.

Bottom line 2: I'd pick Wiliams over pretty much anyone from 147-168. Certainly at 147/154.

Yeah exactly. It's up to the fighters to use those advantages the best they can. Sometimes fighters can't. Even Paul sometimes seems to not use his height and length great sometimes because he does get hit and stays in smaller fighters range.

That doens't mean they will win, yes it's an advantage, but it's doesn't make them invincible. It just means that the guy at a disadvantge has to find other ways to win. It may be by outsmarting their opponent, showing more heart, or whatever else. So when people complain about Williams being to big and to tall I don't buy that. It's just an excuse.
I didn't say it wasn't ok i just said im not impressed. That's just my opinion im not impressed with him beating guy so much smaller than him. Twist it how you want but im just not impressed with him fighting at 147. If he wants to live a lifestyle that allows him to make 147 then so be it. that's where the money is at it's a smart move if he feels he can be more competitve at 147 or make more money there. I actually think him moving up has more to do with his body not being able to make 147 anymore not because he cant get a fight because he can get a fight and he knows that. he started his 15 fights of his career at 154 or higher if i remember correctly. he went down to 147 and I don't think his body can do it much longer hence his attempts to get a big money fight before he leaves, because face it once he drops the belt he's not in a position to come back to 147 with no belts and demand a big fight for alot of money. I've seen him fight live twice here in lemoore at tachi palace casino. The venue is very small and you can easy stand by where they walk in and he looks bad. He's so tall and so skinnny it doesnt even look normal. A 6-2, 6-3 guy weighing 147lbs is crazy! he's taller than me and im 6-1, 6-2.
