His arrival here has sparked surprise and concern among Hatton’s camp, who went to great lengths to avoid seeing Graham on Monday when he came to the fight venue to talk to the Press.
Hatton, now trained by Floyd Mayweather Snr, got in a car and was driven round to a back entrance at the MGM Grand rather than walk past one of the many bars where Graham was sitting with pals.
Graham, 53, insists he is only in town to bury ghosts and will not be buying a ticket for the light-welterweight clash against Malignaggi.
He said: “This is a personal thing. It is something I have to do as the alternative is worse. I trained the kid for years.
“There is a new team but I have to face the fact I’m no longer in it in order to overcome it.
“I’m not some cold-hearted p***k who is just going to walk away without some kind of end. This is my chance to lay the ghosts to rest.
“It will kill me that I’m not in the corner but it’s a chance to say goodbye to the British fans who go to the fights. I have not been going anywhere since the split. I have not been seen around by anyone.
“I want to go out to Vegas to put it all behind me. I can then start going to fights and taking part in boxing again as a fan.
“I’ve got to get back into it because the alternative is a life without boxing and for me that is worse than anything.”
