I think it's embarassing that Margarito and JCC have such hate for DLH. I think it's envy personally because of the money and career that DLH has had.

What's been so impressive about DLH's career is that he has managed it perfectly. Yes he's lost some big fights but he didn't blow all his money and was very smart in his business decisions.

DLH has an opportunity to make a bigger impact in the game of boxing AFTER his ring career and that's impressive.

All this, "your not Mexican enough" BS should stop. DLH is and will be remembered as a great fighter and people should respect that no matter what.

I am dissapointed in the fact that he's fighting Pacman but what can we do except not by the PPV. I'm not buying it but it still doesn't take away what DLH has done throught his illustrious career.
I totally agree. This just like Trinidad hate on Cotto.

I don't see it as embarrassing. Yes some of the motivation behind this, like in Chavez's case can be linked to envy and or jealousy. But to point to that as the sole reason is quite arrogant. Why does someone have to be envious or jealous of you because they don't support you? Can they just not like you because of who you are?

Mexicans (at least the ones that I've talked to) have always had respect for Pacquiao. Its hard not to. A fighter with his mentality and willingness to seek out the best challenges will always get my support, regardless of where he's from. Even when he lost to Morales in the 1st fight, I would hear many Mexican boxing fans compliment Pacquiao.

De La Hoya, especially in recent years, has irked a lot of fans. The outcomes of the Trinidad/Sturm/Hopkins fights and a few others pretty much put a stamp of disapproval from many fans, not just Mexican fans, on an otherwise excellent career. Margarito has said before that he respected and admired Oscar, but lost that respect when Oscar looked to Pacquiao after Tony defeated Cotto. He saw that as cowardly and hypocritical. I think its a legitamate beef.

But to chalk up every conflict to "jealousy" or "haterism" is just simply pompous and egotistic. I would give most of these guys the benefit of the doubt and say they respect Pacquiao as a fighter more than they do DLH.

Personally, I hope Manny keeps it simple and decides to forego anybody walking him to the ring. Anything more would be something like a sideshow and he'll need as few distractions as possible since the odds are stacked high against him in this fight.

He may not be worried but he's definately hurt. By him saying that Chavez wasn't one of his idols growing up is proof that he's emotionally hurt. Chavez is all he talked about when he was an up & coming fighter.

No it's not. Native Mexicans (fighters and fans) love Pac better than Oscar. It's the Mexican-Americans who hates Pac.

Oscar should not worry about those bums they are just jealous of him. They will never be as successful as Oscar not in their whole lifetime.

Not mexican enough...LoL funny. Last time I checked there is not 1 Mexican who has won an Olympic gold medal for boxing, not 1 who has successfully ran a promotion company with many big name fighters, and las but not least there has never been a mexican who has sold as many PPV as Oscar...must be good to be an American! Oscar should not worry about the Mexicans crying and hating on him...Damn am I ashamed to be Mexican when my people are so f-king ignorant like that.
