Most UFC fans are actually amateur wrestling and martial arts fans from the west, which is surprising. There's a more larger hardcore following of wrestling in the Big Ten states.
I will not take away from anything you posted though. There is a crossover from North American pro-wrestling fans. Not in the reasons you think though. A lot of the fans are disgrutled because the athletics involved are being pushed aside for theatrics or ****** characters only to entertain the owners more then the fans. These same fans are followers of Japanese Wrestling and MMA because they base themselves on the earlier form of pro-wrestling and focus on the athletics and "tactical" side of pro wrestling.
In short, pro-wrestling fans are in it for the intrigue of battle.
