oh god, this maybe the best day for boxing in a long way if he is training and if he does want to actually resume his career. great news for everyone apart from the haters.

you guys make me sick.Floyd should just stay retired? its not like the guy has had a punishing career or anything, who cares. if he comes back now and still has success, he just added a ton to his legacy. from now on, people will say things like 'He was able to beat so and so despite the fact that he had started to go downhill and after a year or more layoff!'

continuing to fight could do wonders for his legacy, and I think he would be able to have success even when his speed and reflexes deteriorate due to his style of fighting and skill. plus, he keeps himself in good shape constantly. look what that did for Hopkins.

I'm not gonna get my hopes up just yet. I just hope that when and if he comes back that he doesn't rematch DLH or Hatton. I still would love to see him fight Cotto. I'd also wouldn't mind seeing him thrash Pacquiao.

Yeah, I thought it was a bit too early as well. I'm for fighters retiring whenever they want, but if you are a great fighter and healthy and motivated, 32 is a good age to finish it off.

I wanted to see him fight either Margarito or WILLIAMS at 147 and call it a career. If he had beat one of the two, especially Williams, that's all he needed to never be questioned at 147. Below 147, hard to question his greatness.

I was fine with his retirement though because of what he said leading up to the fight: the stuff about him changing mentally, etc, etc, etc. That makes him past his peak to me.
I combine Mental and Physical to say a fighter is still in his prime or peak.

good point. I could definitely see Floyd doing well late in his career like Hopkins has. Floyd has that kind of ring smarts. Although at some point Floyd might have to do what Hopkins did and fight mostly guys who are smaller than he is. For now though, while Floyd's still in his prime, he needs to go after Cotto and other good welterweights

Boxing needs Floyd back, great news if true, hopefully Pac can defeat DLH,and we can get a real fight,a real dream fight,Floyd vs Pacman, that would be like Leonard-Duran to me,but Floyd would win
