He's pretty much ruled out going up to cruiserweight so I doubt he'll move up there unless he has to. It's tough to say who wins without seeing how well Dawson would handle anything above 175 pounds, his style is very reliant on speed so the extra weight could work against him.

Thats an extra 25 pounds, I don't think it would be a wise decision for Dawson.

i for one think cunningham is a little better than most think and dawson is not quite where people are putting him at this point of his career, in 5 years i would say dawson by demolition but so far dawson has proved to be a lil chinny and i think cunninghams would put him down a time or two before a ko in the late rounds, uss is just to strong physically and mentaly to let the smaller man beat him, uss by 11th round ko

Dawson will eventually need to move up - he won't be able to weight-drain down to 175 forever. Interestingly, Dawson seems to have a larger frame than Cunningham.

For the time being, he should fight Cunningham at a catchweight.

Cunningham is underrated, Dawson is overrated. I have no doubts that USS would knock Dawson out.

Dawson isn't overrated, his fights against Harding, Adamek, Johnson, and Tarver prove that. He would beat anyone in 175 or 168. Also Dawson will stay as a LHW for a LONG TIME, he could fight as a SMW if he wanted to.
