De La Hoya: "If I Don't Knock Him Out, A Total Disaster"

If the fight with Manny Pacquiao does not end with a knockout, Oscar De La Hoya will call it a total disaster. De La Hoya does not want a decision, he wants to knock the Filipino champion out. Since Pacquiao, who began at 106-pounds, is moving up from 135 to the welterweight limit of 147, just going the distance with De La Hoya would be a feather in his cap. [details]

Oscar KOed Mayorga which would be closer to Pac's style than Forbes.

Its funny how this coward can make 147 against Pacq but refused to do so against PBF! What a *****! I hope he gets his ass handed to him in this bout! And then goes away!

oh my god, i cant beleive this fight is going to happen without one bit of criticism from HBO or anybody with a voice in boxing. i know that the fight is going to break records and make them rich as hell, but that doesnt benefit the sport and the true fans that follow the sport and understand. picture if this was manny pacquiao vs miguel cotto, antonio margarito, paul williams, shane mosley or joshua clottey, HBO wouldve laughed at the matchup and take away fan interest while doing it. but since its vs de la hoya, they hype it up calling it a great matchup, the fight of the year and so on. i used to be a oscar fan,but im a die hard boxing fan, and in my opinion oscar's hall of fame card has been revoked. everything floyd mayweather said about him in the buildup to their fight turned out to be correct. oscar has the nerve to say if he beats manny then hes the pound 4 pound best? WTF,this is the same guy who picks only opponents that he thinks he can push around.when he fought mayweather, he was 15 pounds heavier, which is a huge advantage but floyd turned out to be too good regardless. then he fought steve forbes, a good boxer with a style similar to floyd who presented no threat to oscar, he only had 11 ko's.now hes fighting a guy that began his career at 105 pounds. i wanna know who the **** cheers for oscar in a situation like this, why does he have so many fans. he promised antonio margarito a shot but then realized he had to a go to a photoshoot and couldnt afford to get his face battered. i understand money will flow that night,if i wasnt a boxing fan i would give him props for getting his money but i am a true boxing fan who loves the sport so i cant tolerate gimmick events such as these. manny has so many flaws as a fighter, if oscar wants he could end the bout in one round. manny has a lot of power but oscar has big man power and he has speed with head movement and footwork which is something manny does not care to work on. the way he lunges inside will most likely set him up for a brutal knockout with most likely a left hook by oscar.so im certain this bout will not reach 12 rounds. so with all that said, im going to pray the manny pulls off probably the bigggest upset in recent history, so i pick manny by 9-10th round stoppage with oscar's history of wearing down late in fights, his poor stamina will be the reason he wont continue on.he is the best promoter in boxing, hands down but after this fight i hope he doesnt fight no more unless its with an actual challenge

During his early career Oscar was renowned for being an extremely heavy hitter. As the years (and weight divisions) have gone by he's lost a bit of his sting, but he retains enough to put Manny flat out on the canvas.
