I agree with your whole Post.. except that part. Cotto clearly looked to his corner and shook his head and thats when the corner threw the towel in. Emanuel Stewart said it too. It was cotto that wanted the fight stopped.. I agree with you tho... and dont insult my mother agian. I didnt say anything bad about you or your family.

Cotto quit. Plain and Simple. He folded at the fists of Margarito by twice voluntarily taking a knee. If his corner had not stopped the fight he would have continued to go down voluntarily because he did not have the will to fight back anymore. It would have surely been a "No Mas" scenario. His corner did him a favor.

You should be glad that Cotto had the balls and is a true warrior that he gave him a shot.
You can't question his status at all especially the way he fought that night and gave it his all.
Margarito was just the better man that night.

what I don't understand is how someone can hate on a fighter after they gave us such a great fight. someone who fights that hard earns respect from me.
i didn't like cotto at first but he has really grown on me and I would say he is one of my favorites of today. I respect Margarito for giving it his all and beating the best welter in Cotto but I guess some of these Mexicans are too bent up on nationalism, machismo and their arrogance to apreciate a great fighter who isn't mexican let alone the sport of boxing itself.

I live in Las Vegas, it would be crazy for me not to like or kick it with Mexicans.. they are everywhere lol

Hoping to finalize his proposed January 24th clash with WBA welterweight champion Antonio Margarito, Team Mosley has issued the following statement, “Anybody with information leading to the whereabouts of Antonio Margarito will be awarded 2 tickets and a free hotel room to the upcoming Sugar Shane Mosley bout on January 24th, 2009.”

After a period of back and forth negotiations between Golden Boy Promotions and Top Rank, Mosley agreed to the fight on his end. HBO had offered around $4 million to split, but apparently Margarito is reluctant to accept a payday of nearly $2 million and has yet to show up to sign his end of the contract. Assuming Margarito turns down the offer, WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto would likely become the frontrunner to land the fight with Mosley.
