    Calzaghe/Jones 24/7: Missing Something?

Is it me, or is there just a genuinely differnet feel to the Calzaghe/Jones 24/7 show than there was to any of the others? Perhaps the fact that it was only 3 episodes had something to do with it, and they tried to squeeze too much stuff into three episodes instead of four. I was just on YouTube, and they had little webisode parts of 24/7 that weren't in the show:

Roy Jones visiting the Pittsburgh Steelers training facility/stadium
Joe Calzaghe at a local Wales hockey game

Not too interesting overall, but it could have made a nice addition to the show. Maybe have some of the NFL players talk about how they've seen Jones, if he's an inspiration to them, or have Jones talk about how he's been a Steelers fan for a while.

    Anybody else think the same?

24/7 ain't the same without Floyd.

He was the villain, no matter if you like him or hate him, he draws people. Calzaghe-Jones had no bad guy, it was 2 good guys, just doesn't work. I haven't seen DLH-Pac 24/7 yet, but I expect it to be the same.

It ****** because both of them respect each other. DLH/PAC ep 1 was better than all 3 of the Cal/Jones. To me Roy wasn't very confident in the 24/7 series either.

That could be it, no real bad guy. DLH-Pac doesn't really have a bad guy, it has a decent bit of animosity though. Plus, the story lines are what makes it intriguing: Nacho Beristain knowing Pacquiao so well, Angelo Dundee coming in, Freddie Roach saying DLH can't do anything and he knows why, etc.

This particular one just has a lot of intriguing stuff about it, that's what makes it good.

He didn't seem confident to me either. If it was the Roy Jones from 2003, with his RJ persona, that would have made for damn good television.

I saw the clips you're referring to and agree. Their similar, the guys showing socialable side, them getting some attention. Were significant enough occurences in the area's too showing them handling fans. Coulda been squeezed in.

Yea, DLH-Pac has more angles to work on I guess. I always found the whole good guy - bad guy theme of 24/7 to be the most interesting part, and was what made me watch. Without a bad guy, it just doesn't have 'it'.

I just downloaded the 1st episode of the DLH-Pac series so i'll watch it in a bit and see what I think.

why does there have to be a bad guy for it to work?
I've like most the countdown showns and most the 24/7's.
It don't make any difference to me.. I don't watch to watch a soap operah,
I watch to see how each fighter spends their personal time and how they
do their training camps. also to get to know them better as a person.

IMO if people want to watch some good vs. evil type **** they should go watch a movie.

I think it makes it more interesting.

I don't mean literally a hero vs villain, but when you just have 2 guys saying how great the other guy is. It gets a bit boring IMO.
