Gomez handled Oliver McCall's power just fine.. McCall might be old.. But the guy hits like a mule..

Haye has a lot of potential.. but people often get ahead of themselves..

Yeah I would agree. I think Gomez gets sold short.

Ibragimov went life and death with the incredible Ray Austin and got his ears boxed off by Wlad yet he merits so high a rating.

I don't know. This division is so weak it's hard to put a good top 10 together, but I suppose Wlad Owns is as good as any.

After the champs it's anybody's game really. Dimentrinko is too high on people's lists and so is Haye at this point.

        Heavyweight Champions

        Wladimir Klitschko - IBF/WBO/IBO
        Vitali Klitschko - WBC
        Nikolai Valuev - WBA

        Top 10 Contenders

        1. Alexander Povetkin
        2. Ruslan Chagaev
        3. David Haye
        4. Juan Carlos Gomez
        5. Sultan Ibragimov
        6. Tony Thompson
        7. John Ruiz
        8. Sam Peter
        9. Alexander Dimitrenko
        10. Eddie Chambers, Chris Arreola (tied)

I don't like John Ruiz but he defeated Jameel McCline more convincingly than Sam Peter, and his fight with Valuev was close (although he did lose), so I have to put him there.

          1. Dimitrenko
          2. Arreola
          3. Haye
          4. Juan Carlos Gomez
          5. Povetkin
          6. Chambers
          7. Ibragimov
          8. Thompson
          9. Travis Walker
          10. Odlanier Solis

I kept Haye at 3 becuz Arreola and Dimitrenko beat him out on experience and their resume's are better buh Haye will jump em if he get's one more good fight under his belt. I got Solis beatin out Peter, Boystov, and Kingpin Johnson because the guy has a lot of power and is very skillful. Dude is jus overweight! Man if he lost 15-20 lbs he would be so much better. What do y'all got?
arreola is no better than #9 or $10 at best. walker shouldnt be in there. I pretty much agree with the rest. dim has great potential

mccall has never been a big puncher. he just caught lennox coming in. who's he knocked out? he couldnt knock out an ancient holmes or shot bruno and the glass jawed maskeav was only in his 5th or so fight when mcall knocked him out. he had a great chin and excellent stamina,,,was strong but a big puncher he wasnt

come on man. youre going totally by haye's offense. dont forget how vulnerable he also is. barret seemed to hurt him a bit with just jabs. gomez and pov have every bit as much of a punchers chance as haye does. they arent as explosive as haye but have better chins and gomez has a much better defense

I don't know. The Klits are 87-5 with 80 knockouts.
They pretty much fought everyone they could except when Wlad ducked a Sanders rematch. And Vitali had that injury spell for some years and in theory ducked Rahman (don't really believe that one).

They are only as good as their comp and it's not too much their fault if their comp wasn't that good.

That isn't really their problem though.
