Well considering Hopkins and Jones are both better then David Diaz and you'd have a good argument for Marquez beating Pacquiao...

But I think there's clearly a distinction between Pacquiao and Calzaghe, which belongs to Pac. I just like nitpicking things apart such as the words "recent resume" when infact Jones > David Diaz .

You could say that Jones was better then Diaz because even though he won a competitve decision with Hanshaw, that's still better then a close win against an old faded Erik Morales.

You bring up a good point about the Hopkins-Calzaghe fight because I was one of those people who did score it for Hopkins, but you'd have a much easier time in arguing that Marquez should have gotten the nod then Hopkins did imo.

And I took recent as in 2008's resume. That's why.
