This is not anti Calzaghe Thread. I'm just looking for something...

I just wanted to know if anyone has the article where Joe Calzaghe was unsure if he wanted to fight a prime Roy.

I thought I heard somewhere on here, that an article existed. If I'm wrong, I'm sorry.

    Thank you.

There was an article awhile back on hbo before Calzaghe fought kessler, that Calzaghe said something about 6 years ago at that time*which is probably about 7 now or 8... I forget, but he said that he offered both Roy Jones Jr and Hopkins a decent pay to fight him. And Hbo confirmed this and said in the written article on there website that basically roy and hopkins wanted too much money to fight calzaghe.

I swear to god I'm not making that up, but I don't blame any fighter because Calzaghe is so awkward and any professional boxer could tell that by looking at him. Plus, he wasn't exactly a huge name in the states at that time.

I believe you. but i also remember some article where Calzaghe said Roy would have been too much for him. I just don't remember where it was from.

Once again, I'm not trying to disrespect Calzaghe or his fans. I was having discussion with someone in another thread, and this came up...

It even says in Calzaghes bio thay roy was avoiding him... Read it... Hbo might be biased??? Or is there any truth to it... who knows

"Equaling Holmes and Hopkins means a lot to me and going for Joe Louis' record is a great incentive as well," said Calzaghe. "But to be honest, I don't know if I want to take his record because he's a legend."

With his lightning fast hand-speed and power punching, plus his awkward southpaw stance, Calzaghe has been avoided by the top Americans like Roy Jones Jr until now.

Ive seen it mentioned that Calzaghe said that but Ive NEVER seen any proof.Calzaghe never ducked a Prime Roy or Bernard that's for sure.

As for this supposed article I'd like to see it too but I doubt it exists.
Some hater probably most likely made it up the whole thing.

An article was posted about a year ago by Dios Dominicos, I believe...it said that Calzaghe stated that Roy looked unbeatable, but he was open to a fight if it could be made. The article was dated circa 2000...if I recall correctly. Warren also made some statements therein about an attempt to lock up with Hopkins.
