    Punching Power

I just watched Rocky IV for the first time in a long time and I saw the part where the say the average heavyweights punching power is 700lbs per square inch. I was wondering how accurate this is and if anyone knows if Tyson or Foreman have done this. Thanks

I think the Rocky IV writers simply thought it would be a cool idea to do that and compare it to the "average" heavyweight. Fighters don't use machines to measure their punching power.

However, if i remember correctly, for fun the military once tested Marciano's power and said it was equivalent to an armor piercing missile.

What surprised me most is that the chain punches of a good wt student are a lot harder then any hooks or straights of a good boxer. I dont remember the actual numbers but this is very interesting stuff.
