Former Olympian teammates, good friends, but the punches flew when the bell rang to sound round one at the Vanderbuilt University's Memorial Gym in Nashville, Tennessee. Former undisputed middleweight champion Jermain Taylor (28-2-1, 17 KOs) won a solid twelve round unanimous decision over former super middleweight champion, Jeff Lacy (24-2, 17 KOs). [details]

No surprise there, Lacy is still way too one dimensional fighter. Hes just not versatile enough to hang with a former top dawg. Taylor could have knocked him out, but we all know there friends and he doesn't want to give Lacy brain damage or anything like that.
Good to see Taylor get a win. Maybe he can bounce back big and become middle weight champ. Hes still young and hes got plenty left in the tank. Hope to see Taylor do big things again in the future. -
Jermain Taylor is BACK!
I haven't been THIS impressed with Taylor in awhile.
He was sticking and moving on the outside, connecting a great majority of his counterpunches, and showed to have gotten his confidence back.
Hope he continues to improve and hopefully earn another meaningful world title.
On the other hand Lacy isnt finished yet either. he was game all 12 rounds and proved (at least in my eyes) that he can still be a top fighter at 168...a titlist at the least.Comment

Ya, all Taylor needs to improve on more is his Stamina and so he can throw alot more punches without getting tired. If he can do that, he can be a great champ again. Middle weight or Super Middle, which ever belt he wants he has a good chance if he can just improve his stamina. Taylor will do big things, he just got to keep active.Jermain Taylor is BACK!

Yeah it went more or less how I figured it would, although I had hoped not. I have to say tho it did look like a clean KD by Lacy in the 5th but it mattered little either way. I guess at this point I'll still always be a Lacy fan but he has not future at the top of the sport thats forsure. I'd love to see him fight some brawler type fighters he's capable of beating just to see some nice action boxing that he always brings. He surely has a great chin and the heart of a Lion but not the skill set to be an elite fighter.....Comment

False....I'm sure he wanted to get him out of there. Lacy has a great chin and even more heart.....it just wasn't happening. It'll take a hell of a punch from a hell of a fighter to get Lacy out of there. I'm not saying Jermain couldn't have had he followed up more a couple of times when he had Lacy hurt but he certainly didn't let him off the hook intentionally...If anything them being friends would want to make you stop the guy.No surprise there, Lacy is still way too one dimensional fighter.
