Taylor and Calzaghe basically have the same kinda record except Taylors is more impressive because he questionably beat a more nearer to prime but out of prime Hopkins twice.

If Calzaghe couldn't knock Roy Jones out then he will have serious problems with Taylor.

Taylor won tonight, but at what cost? He looked like he threw like a couple of fast shots then tied jeff lacy hands up so lacy couldn't punch him back. A smart tactic, but people don't enjoy that crap
Maybe a bit slower and a bit rusty, but I don't think Calzaghe would beat him as bad as Lacey.

Taylor could catch Calzaghe. But yeah, I am sure Calzaghe's workrate would be a big determining factor in the fight.

But Hopkins is WAY better then Taylor at clinching and fighting in it. When Taylor clinches, he just holds and then ****s here and there. When Hopkins clinches, he mauls them around, throws and is a lot more sneaky.

Hopkins was able to slow Calzaghe down because he was able to roll punches, counter, and then clinch. Taylor just moves foward and then clinches.

If anything it would be like Bika Calzaghe, but Taylor isn't as rough as Calzaghe and Calzaghe imo is a much more controlled fighter then he was in the Bika fight.

Exactly. Taylor gasses out bad when pushed. Joe would be a nightmare, plus if they fought at 170, the couple of extra pounds probably won't help Jermain either.

Er.. what? Calzaghe defended his super middleweight title more than 20 times including unifying against Kessler and Lacy/ He did not fight Cory Spinks and Kassim Ouma. He did not draw with Winky Wright. He did not get completely starched by Kelly Pavlik.

I thought Joe wasn't trying to KO Jones? He said his hand went in the 7th or 8th round.

At this point in time I cant see Taylor getting a win over Calzaghe.

Taylor definately looked sharp tonight...he hasnt looked as good in a while...very classy...great jabs...he appeared to be a truly well rounded boxer.

However Calzaghe is just too sharp. Faster hands combined with his awkward stlye and great stamina would be too much for taylor to overcome.

I'd see calzaghe winning a clear cut 8 rounds to 4 rounds UD win.
