The kid is age 22, defeating veterans, getting in some rounds.
Don't be so hard on him. Boytsov is a good fighter, he'll do well.Comment

He's just starting to remind me of Povetkin. He is the big prospect that all the white power posters go and rally behind, but when an unbiased eye watches his fights and looks over his results you're just like... eh... This isn't impressive. When Chambers chose to punch, he was beating Povetkin. Sykes made that fight horrible. Byrd... I think everyone who has fought Byrd in the past few years looked better than Povetkin did. Larry Donald? Good win, but wake me when its over. Ugh. I've seen every Povetkin fight because I thought he was going to be some star early on with the hype and there is just nothing special there. I haven't seen nearly enough Boystov to make a strong comparison, but I'm starting to get the same vibe. I mean when he proves himself incapable of doing with 74 year old Evander Holyfield can do extremely easily, what Brian friggen definition of mediocrity Minto can do... When Boystov can't do that it begins to raise su****ions.
I keep being very impressed by Dimentreko though. I don't know why you're not so sold on him. Of all these former soviet bloc "prospects" (though I think Dimentreko is beyond that status), he seems by far the most legit.Comment

The Maddalone/Holyfield fight was stopped because of a cut....Maddalone wanted to keep fighting. He's just starting to remind me of Povetkin. Yeah I'm right. From that week's Rafael scorecard:
"Despite a cloud hanging over him for being linked to a steroid scandal involving the sale of human growth hormone, Holyfield, 44, battered club fighter Maddalone in a bloody, one-sided fight. It was the third win in a row for the former four-time heavyweight champion since ending an almost two-year layoff following a suspension for poor performance in New York. Maddalone was taking a beating, had been dropped and was bleeding badly from a cut on his forehead in the third round when trainer Al Certo asked for it to be stopped. Holyfield was in his first fight since reuniting with original promoter Main Events and probably will fight again in June. He hopes to land another title shot before the end of the year. Given how bad today's heavyweight division is, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Holyfield get one."Comment

I look forward to see Dimitrenko defend the WBA/WBC/IBF/WBO/IBO/WBF/IBA/WBD/IBC/WBK/IBD/WBT/IBX/WBY/IBR/WBL/IBZ-titles in 2014 against Boytsov. And since they both are Eastern Europeans, the EBU title will also be at stake.
Hopefully, the winner then seeks a unification bout with either WBD/IBA/WBX/IBT-champion Arreola or WBU/IBM/WBR/IBG/WBI/IBL-champion Povetkin or WBM-champ Haye.
Guess what grows more than weeds?Comment

The Boytsov-Maddalone fight today was action-packed, but rather one-sided. Maddalone was down in the second, and Boytsov dominated, winning every round on two scorecards, and all but one round on the third.
Denis Boytsov is a small heavyweight who doesn't have great power, but I like him because he is very aggressive and fun to watch.Comment
