See, this is an informed post. Ruiz was once a top contender who had reeled off several impressive wins but fighters in these smaller divisions have less of a shelf life than the bigger boys.
This is a case of good matchmaking by taking a "name" fighter past his best and feeding him to a hometown upstart to increase his ranking and appeal.
