Greatest of his generation? Rjj, Hopkins, Trinidad, De La Hoya, and many many others have and will have better legacies and will be considered better than Mayweather.

Floyd Mayweather was ranked 2th on P4P List in Only 3 years of After turning Pro Number 1 in his Division
      (http://www.boxrec.com/media/index.ph..._Ratings:_1999)

And We all know that he has been reconized number #1 for almost 4 years now....

In a shorter period of time From a Ranking Stand Point Floyd Mayweather Has risen higher than anybody.

I give Mayweather his credit. His resume is just good. It isnt impressive or elite by any means.

Do you know Mayweather has only fought one automatic hall of famer in past prime de la hoya? Anyone else on his resume like a Hatton or Castillo MAY get in but they are not cemented in like De La Hoya is.

Stop hating. A retired Mayweather right now is a top 50 all time fighter. Not many fighters from this generation can say they are top 50 fighters. On top of that Mayweather can improve his status if he comes back. People knock Mayweather because he didn't fight the top welters but who honestly considers him a top welter to begin with. It's like Roy not fighting the top heavyweight, those guys are not naturals at that weight. At the lower weights Floyd beat every major name besides Kotzyu. Floyd is greater than DLH hands down. He beat DLH and he also won all his big fights when Oscar lost every big fight besides Chavez and Whitaker. RJJ and Hopkins have good resumes but both have many losses compared to Floyd and fought similar caliper of opponents as Floyd. Trinidad in his prime was on a level of Floyd but doesnt have the resume to back it.

                    and who fault is that?

Mayweather has been Calling out De la hoya since 1999-2000...
Mayweather called out Mosely, but Mosely had a toothache...(remember)
You gotta remember nobody wanted to fight Mayweather at 140 (cotto) and below...

people didnt want to fight mayweather until he became the man to beat..
and they had everything to gain and nothing to lose...

to me that is some Punk ****..but what are you going to do you know

Only if you crunch the numbers. 5-div, 39-0, retired P4P # 1. That can change if Mayweather embarasses himself in the upcoming years losing to someone. Also comparing fighters P4P regardless of weight class, Floyd is a much better fighter. He is compatable with B-Hop on defense and is a much better offensive fighter.

Hopkins however had beaten alot more great fighters. They're both up there in my book and two of my favorite fighters.
