Jermain Taylor (167.6), Jeff Lacy (167.2) Make Weight

By Jake Donovan - There was no drama at the scales, in fact any production to speak of. All fighters made weight in virtual anonymity save for a brief photo op between the evening’s main players.

Saturday night’s show is headlined by the 12-round super middleweight title elimination bout between former Olympic teammates Jermain Taylor and Jeff Lacy. Despite false rumors of both fighters struggling to squeeze into a super middleweight uniform, Taylor and Lacy each came in under the 168 lb. limit. Taylor was 167.6, while Lacy tipped the scales at 167.2 lb. [details]

No ****... though we're not allowed to mutter that acronym this weekend, particularly within earshot of DiBella.

Regardless of the turnout, it's still a quality show. Hopefully it's not judged by the crowd, as Nashville has never been and will never be a boxing town, but instead by the action in the ring, as I'm genuinely interested in all eight bouts (including the women's fight).

u have any idea how ticket sales have been?

And yea they put together a very good undercard considering zero of the fights are being televised.

U got Wilder's debut, u got Cintron-Ndou which should be a good fight, and chazz witherspoon is on the card as well

Depends on who you ask. Considering the environment, about as well as expected. Swamp Donkey has a decent following left over from his amateur days, and Deontay Wilder expects more than a few to make the road trip from Tuscaloosa (about four hours, if I'm not mistaken). With gas under $2.00 per gallon for the first time in two years, probably as good a time as any to take a drive.

I'd be very surprised if they sell more than 5,000 tickets, to be honest. Not to say that "only" 5,000 will show up (though again, a decent sized crowd for boxing in Nashville), just not sure how much of the crowd will be of the paper variety.
