He beat them all at such a young age... His resume at 130 respected. Then in his first fight at 135 he faces JLC in a fight I believe could have gone either way. I'm upset the Mayweather vs Casa fight didn't happen but atleast Floyd beat the man that beat Chico/ Casa. At 140 the Kosta fight didnd't land reason being because Kosta was ALWAYS in and out the sport. His resume at 147 may not be so great but as a whole you gotta respect him.

Cotto is a good fighter...But Arum really did him a disservice...by not putting him in with YOUNG HIGHLY RANKED ACTIVE FIGHTERS EARLY in cotto's career unlike he did with Floyd.

You didn't answer anything I said, you merely repeated everything you've said.

Cotto isn't having the rematch with Marg right away because of the way he was beaten. None of the fighters you mentioned were in a war like Cotto/Marg was.

If you don't see why he's taking this match, than I don't know what to tell you. It's pretty cut and dry. You talk about how great it was that Margs fought Cintron to get ready for Cotto. If this CHAMPIONSHIP opportunity didn't arise for Cotto, he would be fighting Cintron. But a better opportunity, to be a champion again, presented itself.

Since coming to 147 he hasn't ducked anyone, he was ready to fight Marg before the Williams fight, and after that he fought Mosley which was the biggest money fight available. The Gomez fight was a tuneup. I mean seriously, you keep comparing him to Floyd, after Floyd was already a bona fide stud after beating JLC twice look who he fought. Sosa? Corley? Bruseles? You seriously don't make any sense.

I seriously think that the reason you hate Cotto is because you know that if he didn't exist, the general public would view Floyd's legacy in a better light. I think that's ridiculous, because I think Floyd's an ATG without fighting Cotto, but I honestly think that fuels your hate for him.

I can see how people can get annoyed as some Cotto fans are just completely irrational. But there are just as many who are aware of his limitations and his accomplishments, and I honestly think our assessment of Cotto is much more fair than Horus's. You can call Cotto fans nuthuggers, but usually the ones using that term are just as big Cotto haters.

Cotto is a good fighter and a lot of what Horus is saying in this thread is true, but it's picking at every little thing on his resume and fighting style. Arum makes Cotto's fights, Cotto never called out anybody, and before losing to Margarito he has faced strong opposition. He lost now he has to pick his career up, that's all there is to it.

Yea, I agree, in my first post I went through what I think are all of Cotto's issues, which he does have many. But the guy is trying to get his career back on track and people are getting all over him, it's crazy. Your right it's as simple as that, he's just trying to get his career going again.

1. Ambition
2. Heart
3. Ego
4. Sense of history


Contrary to popular belief, I do not hate Cotto, I actually think he is a good fighter.

To me Cotto is starting to become an all around fighter. And that is dangerous.He has a crushing jab, and powerful hook. He has ability to adapt.
and he will come back from punishment, with offense instead of defense.

example: Judah, Torres, Corley

The one thing that I will openly admit about Cotto that can make him a great fighter is that. He doesn't **** around, he is focus. And that is something that every great fighter has.

Miguel Cotto can have a legacy like Roberto Duran or Fernando Vargas.

It's up to him.

Pretty much I'd go as far as to say no fighter right now would beat Chico/ Genaro at 130, JLC at 135...

it ain't about height, homeslice. it ain't about height. Floyd's better p4p and you better recognize and own up to that simple fact.

Castillo only did well in the first fight because of Floyd's seperated shoulder. It was a freak thing. Castillo didn't fare so well in the second fight, now did he?

Floyd would get killed at welterweight? He's already beaten some excellent welterweights and he'd at least make it to decisions against Cotto and Marg.

Yea it is about height. Cotto is small as it is. Homeslice. Height plays a big roll in boxing. Cotto would struggle... he can try, but WILL struggle. Plus Cotto has some great fights ahead of him. He wants to conquer the division, but needs to get by Tony first.

Floyd's resume at Welterweight is nothing like Cotto's homeslice. If you wanna talk about resumes at 147... Cotto's is better.
