I count his win over Judah. I just don't think it's that great of a win. Quintana's win over Williams is a better win. Judah has proved time and time again that he's a flake in the ring. He's talented, but no one can point to a win over him as career defining. That includes Cotto and Floyd.

I think watching the two fight and looking at their big wins, Quintana is clearly better than Baldomir.

And anyway, that's not even the point. The point is that it's the opposition that matters, not whether the title is vacant or not. And a win over a quality opponent should not be looked down upon because the title is vacant. That is my point.

Quintana was coming off of a big win against Julio. I'll give you that at the time, the Judah win looked better, being those were each of their only notable wins. So by resume, beating Judah was better than beating Julio. But by skill, I'll still say AT THE TIME, Quintana was better.

But looking back, at skill and level of competition, Quintana is clearly a superior fighter. The Williams fight and Cotto fight were a year apart. It's not like they were two completely different versions of Quintana.

Besides, this isn't the point. The point is that it's not like Cotto fought a bum for his vacant title. So therefore, it's no different than fighting anyone else who is champion, in this case Baldomir fits the example.

You always bring up Cotto winning a vacant belt with negative connotations, and it's wrong. He beat a very legit opponent for his belt. And that's what matters.
