Bizarre comment. So it'd make more sense to have no CW division, and LHW at 175, then just heavy weights some 25-50 lbs heavier as the next one up. I doubt he'd stand by that now having learnt the hard way about such weight differences impacts on your body. But then he thought he woulda beaten Joe without the cut, so he's somewhat deluded on matters.

There was some interesting quotes from Roy in a UK Boxing mag a couple of months ago. Saying how he regretted coming down so quickly to please the fans, he wasn't mentally in a good place, and his body is only right now, after 3 years.

Obviously Roy would do it differently if he had it again. If he had known he would ruin himself cutting the lean mass so quickly he would do it is a much more gradual fashion. You gotta remember that Roy was almost literally superman at the time - he didn't think there was anything he could not do.

And Roy does not really think he would have beaten Joe without the cut. You have to understand that boxers will do and say pretty much anything when they feel the spotlight slipping away, and that is pretty much where Roy is at right now.

        Hahaha, really?

Maybe he thought it was like 168: to New for boxing and little prestige. In history, we talk about Lightweight, Welter, Middle, Light-Heavy, and Heavyweight...with the other divisions, kind of in the back.

Kind of like this: If I'm at 168, why not just move up to Light-Heavyweight where even the average fan has heard of this. If I'm at 199, why not just fight at HW where everybody knows.

Those divisions are like half-steps to a more prestigious division.
