In Germany a potential fight between the 2 german based alphabet titleholders at middleweight is a big subject. It appears the negotiations between the 2 camps has picked up the last couple of days.

Wilfried Sauerland (team AA), who last year offered Sturm 1 million euros, says: "I'm gonna make Universum (team sturm) a new and improved offer by the end of the week but I will not negotiate trough the press", ARD.DE writes.

Klaus-Peter Kohl from Universum says: "I am certain! Sturm has beaten Abraham twice as an AM. Boxingwise Felix is a class above Abraham .

Abrahams trainer Ulli Wegner thinks a fight with Sturm is a nice tune-up before Abraham conquers America: "Arthur wants to go to America as a superchamp. I think a fight with Sturm can take place in February or March."


There has been talks about this fight for a long time. Money shouldn't be a problem. Abraham says: "This fight must not fall through because of financial difficulties. I'm not interested in money! If I have to I'll fight Sturm for free!"

Although Abraham is not going to fight for free, I like his attitude in trying to get this fight made. Not alot of superstars would take pay cuts to get a big fight especially if they're the favorite and more popular fighter...

I hope these 2 fight, I get that is was business why they have not fought to this point but it is hard to believe that 2 top dudes that use Germany as a home base could pass like ships in the night to this point especially since they occupy the same class and have for years. It is probably the biggest money fight out there for both of them, Pavlik would really have to fight whomever the winner, although it is always easier said then done to get 2 top fighters in the ring.
