Roy Jones Jr. was never heavyweight champion.

He just held a worthless portion of the title. Beat the worst paper champion in the division. Such a ****ing hollow claim. You idiots who keep repeating it need to stfu. He never was and never will be heavyweight champion. He beat John Ruiz. Let's keep things in perspective here.

The WBA is one of three major belts.

And as for why he didn't fight Lewis.

Lewis is 6'5 250. Thats too much of a size differential. You almost can't blame him.

He beat John Ruiz...a more than respectable heavyweight, for the WBA Heavyweight title. No one is, or ever has said that he was the undisputed or linear heavyweight champ. But the fact of the matter is he beat a solid opponent for a major alphabet belt at heavyweight. He was a world heavyweight champ, whether you like it or not.

Exactly. Atleast he beat one of the major champs. If he won the IBO heavyweight title, then that would be something to not respect all that much.

add on to the fact he came from 154 lbs to do it.... and that no one has done it over a 100 years... doesnt really matter WHO he beat... the fact that he even did it, is remarkable
