    Duva Boxing's Dino Duva asked that former WBC heavyweight champion Sam Peter be rated as high as possible (top 4 or 5). Star Boxing's Brad Jacobs requested the inclusion of Kevin Johnson in the top 15. Goossen Tutor's Tom Brown requested that the winner of Chris Arreola-Travis Walker be put at #2. He also asked that the James Toney-Tony Thompson winner and Fast Eddie Chambers be rated. Sports Network requested that Audley Harrison be rated.

    Alfredo Marchio, promoter of super middleweight Fulgencio Zuniga, requested an immediate shot for Zuniga against Dennis Inkin, or the winner of Inkin-Karoly Balzsay. That request was denied, but Zuniga, who lost a recent decision to Inkin, will be moved up from his current #11 position.

    A WBO interim junior welterweight title fight between #1 Willy Blain and #4 Lamont Peterson was approved. Negotiations are to start immediately.

    The first order of business after lunch was a vote on the site of next year's 2009 WBO Convention. With the urging of former champion Koko Kovaks, the winning site was Budapest, Hungary, with Cartagena, Colombia as the designated backup.

    Top Rank's Miguel Diaz asked that Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. be rated at jr middleweight. Promoter Gary Shaw offered Chavez an immediate fight against #4 Alfredo Angulo. Shaw also asked that Oscar De La Hoya be dropped from #1 since he will likely not be fighting for a WBO title. Leon Margules asked that Mean Joe Greene be reclassified at junior middleweight.

    Star Boxing's Brad Jacobs requested for Delvin Rodriguez to be ranked at welterweight. Seminole Warriors Boxing's Leon Margules asked that Rafal Jackiewicz be rated at welterweight.

    Lightweight champion Nate Campbell will make his IBF mandatory defense in his next fight and defend his WBO belt after that. DKP petitioned to add Marco Antonio Barrera to the ratings. It was voted to rate Barrera at #1.

    Although rated #1, featherweight Monty Meza-Clay did not have mandatory challenger status. A vote was taken to determine WBO 126lb champion Steven Luevano's official mandatory challenger between between Meza-Clay and Rocky Juarez, who will move from #2 at 130lbs to 126lbs. Juarez won by a vote of 11-4.

    WBO jr featherweight champion Juan Manuel Lopez returns on December 6 against #11 Sergio Medina.

    Bantamweight champion Gerry Penalosa has an voluntary defense vs TBA slated for January 30 in Mexico....#1 Abner Mares has a retina problem and will step aside to allow #2 Eric Morel to become Penalosa's mandatory challenger.....#5 Diego Silva and #6 Yonny Perez were OK'd to fight for the #1 spot.

    WBO jr bantamweight champion Fernando Montiel's plans are unknown. Top Rank's Miguel Diaz will follow up. Meanwhile, #1 Pramansak Phosawan vs #2 Jose Lopez may fight January 31 for an interim belt.

    Flyweight champion Omar Narvaez will face mandatory challenger Rayonte Whitfield on February 7th in Argentina.

    There is talk about 108lb WBO champion Ivan Calderon coming down to 105lbs to face 105lb champion Donnie Nietes.

    Joe Calzaghe will not be able to attend the WBO Convention to accept his award as fighter of the year.
