For such very large men the Klitschkos don't have equivalently long reaches. I think they're both something like 79-80". I'll check in Boxrec when I post this and maybe come back with red face. I recall I was surprised when I looked it up during the Rahman =VK fight publicity. Anyway, most useful blows are delivered within the distance where they'd need to be to have to most effect, and thats about a half sterp inside max range, I'd think.

The Klitschko's are helped with their highly effectice and offensively damaging jabs, is the fact that they deliver the jab (straight left) in the correct manner, which is when standing about 3/4 sideways-sometimesmore if they can get away with not being put off balance, and extending the arm with the body beind it. Rather like a fencer delivering a thrust with a foil. This enables the maximum reach advantage. The American boxer bends his arm more, and when jabbing most often doers it from a more square position, thus losing the extra reach advantage. In my opinion anyway.

Whilst talking about reach, I think that Rahman has an even longer reach than either Klitschko, and I think Sanders has too. I remember looking up the Sanders reach when I was wondering how the hell he'd managed to reach such a large man as Klitschko with such power....and then I saw that he himself was 6'4" with an 81-2" reach. But, as I realised after carefully scrutinizing the video, this made no difference since the damaging punches and butts had to have been made -and indeed were- from a close-in firihg range.

      Apropos...maybe

My old head is still firing on all 12 cylinders. My interest in big men and "reach" was really impelled by the fact thast I remembered reading somewhere that Primo Carnera has a very long reach (compared to that of his opponents), and this contributed to the fact that he had a very respectable left jab. Something like 86". I've just looked it up and, "bingo"... 85 1/2". And he's shorter than either Wladimir or Vitaly, 2" shorter than the latter at 6'5 1/2".

AND....sorry for "butting" in again [bad choice of word for a boxing comment], but I meant to also say that the best chance that Haye has to "batter" either Klitschko, is to get them very drunk, (an impossibility, I think) and game for anything, then dunk them in a huge vat of mixed flour and milk (which is a sort of pancake batter, also used to coat fried fish).

No other chance will appear, .....sorry.

Get real, Haye has no chance of beating Vitali. Zero. He would lose and lose badly.

He has a small punchers chance of beating wlad, and thats it. It most likely won't happen.

This guy Haye is not a natural heavyweight talent and is way out of his league against the klitschko's.

I WISH there was a kiltschko beating prospect. Haye isn't it.

It's not like this media over hyping thing is new or anything. We have all seen it before. A mostly unknown hype starts challenging a big dog, saying he will do this and that and then gets into the ring and gets humiliated.

I guess money matters more than ones reputation these days. Kinda sad if you ask me.
